A collection of biographical essays on the lives of several American poets, discussing their work and circles in which they worked and travelled. This includes William Cullen Bryant, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, John Greenleaf Whittier, Oliver Wendell Holmes and James Russell Lowell. GOOD condition. Minor soiling, scuffing and fading to the covers, with a scuff line across the lower rear cover. Heavy fraying and chipping to the cloth at the spine tips and corners. Ownership signatures present.
