About this Item

[FIRST EDITION] New York: An American Place, 1933. Hardcover in the original onion skin dust jacket. Bound in paper covered boards with parchment covered back-strip. Privately Printed For An American Place; Printed under the direction of Robert Josephy by the Beekman Hill Press in New York in February 1933. The edition consists of four hundred copies on Worthy Aurelian laid paper, of which numbers 1 to 30 are stated to include an original photograph of the author by Alfred Stieglitz (though rumored to have been inserted in few if any copies). This copy is one of the later 400 numbered copies. A rare publication by Stieglitz's last gallery, being a collection of poetry by the assistant, colleague and lover of artist and photographer Alfred Stieglitz (to whom the book is dedicated) This was a remainder copy and essentially "new old stock" with some storage/shelf wear to the jacket. (eB) NY: Privately printed for An American Place, 1933. Hardcover First edition in Onion skin dust jacket. One of 400 numbered copies. Dedicated to Alfred Stieglitz.
