Louise Gluck was born in New York City in 1943, and was raised on Long Island. About the Author:

Louise Glück has taught at Goddard College, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Virginia, and is a member of the visiting staff of the Fine Arts Work Centre in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Her awards include grants from the Rockefeller Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
