Rose Jacquez Cliburn, the child of Mexican immigrants, spent her early years in a coal-mining community. She grew up during World War II as older siblings fought in the war, one seriously wounded in battle. There’s been many triumphs and sorrows as she married her husband, Jim Cliburn, and raised eight children together. Now, living in Texas, she suffers from a form of muscular dystrophy but continues to live a joyous life, thanks to the love of family and her steadfast belief in the Catholic faith.
