About this Item

A portfolio of 46 black-and-white photographs showing panoramic and close-up views of the Hudson River. Includes six-pages of explanatory text and a set of 46 plates. The photographs are by Wendy Holmes, who also wrote the introduction. The title of the work, "Hudson City," refers to a program for New York City kids organized by the Wave Hill Center for Environmental Studies (a 28-acre site overlooking the Hudson) to promote the study of the Hudson River's history, ecology, and problems. Although intended for an educational exhibit or classroom use the pictures are magnificent and can be enjoyed for their own sake. Folio. [6] pp. & 46 plts. Loose in original beige portfolio. Complete. Fine, in a lightly soiled; water-stained slipcase. Bookseller Inventory # 7312
