Hugo tells the story of a 1930s orphan living in the walls of a train station in Paris and his efforts to solve the mysteries around his late father and an automaton. Hugo won Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction. It was nominated for Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best costume Design, and Best Music - Original Score.
