Dr. Frederick Snelling edited this edition with annotations and additions. Dr. C. J. Hempel added an appendix of the new remedies. A subtitle is "Symptomatology". The book contains 1,272 pages plus a 16 page catalogue of the Hahnemann Publishing House. An early owner of this book has made a statement at the top of the "introduction" page. He has written " All that which is written by me in ink are from notes taken from " J. Hiber Smith M. D." (inexact) lectures in Materia Medica in Boston University School of Medicine. All the parts in this book which are underlined are mentioned in Dr. Smith's lectures as being of an important nature . and some additional comments" "W. R. Amesbury M.D. The book has a lot of neat pencil underlines and a number of notes written in ink and pencil in the margins. Condition: Has the original worn covers and backstrip but they are detached from the book. Some edge stains and edge tears to the pages. The front e.p. is detached.
