Second previous owner name inked on inside front cover. That name is Wallace de Ortega Maxey. This is Archbishop Wallace David deOrtega Maxey (1902-1992). He started his ecclesiastical carrier as a priest of the American Catholic Church, ordained by Archbishop Joseph Rene Vilatte. He attended seminary, was an author, published a newspaper and was active in the political arena. He was an important figure in the history of the Old Catholic and Independent Catholic Churches in America. Most of his ministry was spent in the Los Angeles area.
