About the Author:

Pamela Guest is the mother of two differently-abled young men, one with mild autism and the other with dyslexia and dyscalculia. Her belief that every child is able, with support, encouragement and a little ingenuity, to achieve whatever goals he or she might set, compelled her to fight for her sons’ successes and inspired her efforts to share resources and guiding knowledge with other parents who might need to do the same for their own children. She publishes IEP Magazine, and has chronicled her oldest son’s struggles with the public school system in her book, Artistic: The Art of Redefining a Label. Pamela is also a member of Decoding Dyslexia, The Special Education Citizens’ Advisory Committee and is a Parent Education Support Counselor.
