Vintage original 10 x 8" (25 x 20 cm.) black-and-white print still photo, USA. A portrait of composer Igor Stravinsky, here rehearsing as a conductor for the European premiere of his "Variations: Aldous Huxley in memoriam". Huxley was a good friend of Stravinsky, part of a circle of major artist intellectual emigres who settled in Los Angeles, many of them in the 1940s. This was to be Stravinsky's last orchestral composition. He was 83 at the time when this photo was taken. Printed blurb attached, there is some spotting to the emulsion, but it is only visible if you hold this up at an extreme angle, VERY GOOD+. Bookseller Inventory #
