frontis port., clxxxvi, (6), 210pp; 402pp; 367pp; folding plate ("The Shield of Achilles") 352pp; 359pp. Half-titles intact. Octavos. 1/4 calf(?) over marbled boards. Gilt decorations, lettering, rules and numerals on spines. Condition: Good. Worn along extremities, Two volumes are missing their spines (one of which is laid in); one volume is absent 1/2 its spine. Other spines are variously worn or chipped/peeled. All hinges save one ---which is semi-detached-- are sound. Rear free endpapers are missing. Internally clan and bright, aside from a very few spots or smudges. The "Shield" plate is mildly offset. A worthy candidate for re-backing. Bookseller Inventory #
