A simply stunning Victorian book that has lasted very well over the years. Division IV - LAW to ODO of a set of books titled " The Illustrated Dictionary of Gardening, A Practical and Scientific Encyclopaedia of Horticulture. A dark green cloth bound hardback book, with beautiful gilt titles on both the front board and spine. This wonderful used book is in really good condition and as its a used book, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with age and use. Corners to boards very slightly bumped and faded, gilt edge to papers, printed stamp of previous owner on first blank page, the first few pages do have a small water marks to right edge of papers, please see photos, but in all honesty its hardly noticeable does not affect any of the text or stunning coloured illustrations. Pages 241 to 472. Pages all intact, no foxing and nice tight binding. No published date but would assume its around the 1880's. Published in Great Britain, by L. Upcott Gill. 170, The Strand, London. and printed by A. Bradley, London. General agent: A.W. Cowan, Ludgate Circus, London. Fabulous illustrations, especially the coloured illustrations. A well looked after book, part of a larger set, and would grace any stylish library.
