Originally published in 1920. ***Very good in brown cloth-covered boards with gilt tiles to spine. Lower front and rear boards mottled. Edges rubbed and worn. Lower corners slightly bumped. Lower edge of text-block rough-cut (as called for). Paper browned. Off-setting to free endpapers. Prelims and end pages slightly foxed. ***With a very attractive tree design bookplate of Fergus Wood M.A. Oxon Clerk dated 1924 on front pastedown, and with a written inscription "In Memory of a friend George Cobb". No dustwrapper. ***277 pages including index. 226 mm x 146 mm. ***'This book is in two parts. The first gives the substance of lectures delivered in the Psychological Laboratory at Cambridge in the summer of 1919, and repeated in the spring of the present year at the Phipps Clinic of the John Hopkins Medical School, Baltimore, under the direction of Professor Adolf Meyer. The second part consists of appendices in which are republished occasional papers written as a result of clinical experience gained during the war. ***The general aim of the book is to put into a biological setting the system of psycho-therapy which came to be generally adopted in Great Britain in the treatment of the psycho-neuroses of war.'
