About this title

This hard-covered (8x11) book is indexed, with 41 maps and 230 photogragphs. It also contains a roster of the 2,575 men that served with the 4th Ohio Cavalry. The 4th Ohio Cavlary called themselves "The Invincibles" and nothing stopped them-not 2,000 of Nathan Bedford Forrest's men entrenched behind fortifications at Selma, Alabama, not John Hunt Morgan capturing more than 250 from their ranks at Lexington, Kentucky. The 4th Ohio triumphs over the odds and the enemy to become one of the most experienced and capable regiments of the Civil War.

About the Author:

Nancy Pape-Findley, RDH, embarked on the twelve-year process of writing this book after looking at an old photo of her great-great grandfather, Carsten Pape, of the 4th Ohio Cavarly, Company K. An enthusiastic Civil War re-enactor, Pape-Findley is a member of the 4th Michigan Infantry, Company G, living history group, with whom she has often portrayed a woman soldier. A native and resident of Tecumseh, Michigan area, she is the graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dental Hygiene, and is married with two children.
