About this title

Synopsis:

A young woman (Cindi Phillips) wins a trip toBermuda on a game show, but doesn't return home.  Her uncle, Rick LaBlonde, a PrivateInvestigator starts to investigate.  Rick traces Cindi's movements from her flighthome from Bermuda to New York, but instead of continuing on to her home town, shepurchased a ticket for Miami.  In Miami, the trail goes stone cold.  Meanwhile,Rick is contacted by Cindi's college roommate (Tina Forsyth), who happened tobump into Cindi in Bermuda.  When told ofCindi's disappearance, Tina is worried and, since her family is filthy rich, she hires Rick and volunteers to finance the investigation.  Tina ends up coming to New York to "assist"Rick, which complicates both the investigation and Rick's love life, since hisgirlfriend is not thrilled about Rick spending so much time withthe young and curvacious Tina.  FromBermuda to Miami to Dallas to Las Vegas, Rick traces the trail of not onlyCindi, but several other young women who seem similarly to havedisappeared.  Are these girls really evenmissing?  And if so, who is behind it -and why?  As the mystery grows morecomplex, it also gets more dangerous for Rick, who seems to have stumbled ontosomething far bigger than a simple missing person.  Even if Cindi is still alive, can Rick stayalive long enough to find her?

From the Author:

"Identity Crisis" was my first novel.  Written in 1991 and 1992, it was not published until 2003.  Now, with the publication of my second novel, "A Legacy of One," I have taken the time to re-edit the old book and put it up as a Kindle edition so that folks who want to read the first book can actually find it, since the original had a very limited hard copy printing.  The story is fun, entertaining, and (I hope) will keep you guessing until the exciting conclusion.  It's a great airplane book or beach read, and several elements of this book come around again in my second novel, which is much more serious.  I hope you enjoy Rick LaBlonde, P.I. and his adventure in this original installment.
