edition and printing not indicated; some damp spots/foxing/light soiling of covers and endpapers, slight yellowing of the plates, front corners bumped, the two staples in the stapled paper covers are rusted, ca 3.5 cm tear at heel of spine, else in good condition, rated Fair to Good; signed by my mother, Margaret Gilbert, on the front cover (signature partly effaced), list of fauna in pencil in upper right margin of zoo map on p. 1 'Dingo, Kangaroo, Wallaby, Rat Kangaroo, Emu, Cassowary, Tree Kangaroo, Cockatoo, Platypus, Koalas, Swan' in my father's (an anthropologist) handwriting; publication date must have been between around 1932 and 1938, since the Sydney Harbour Bridge (completed in 1932) appears in the background of an elephant photo and my parents were in Sydney in Feb & Mar 1938; photos by J. N. Boberg, printed by New Century Press Pty Ltd, Printers, 3 York St. (North), Sydney; would interest collectors of early 20th century zoo guides and also those interested in Sydney (and Australian) history;; landscape orientation 8vo -- 21.5 centimeters wide by 16.3 centimeters tall; 83 numbered pages, 4 of the plates depicting fish are in colour in addition to the colour of the cover (two giraffes with the harbour in the background), the colour map of the gardens, and an ad for the Sydney Ferries Ltd Showboat at the end Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
