About the Author: Sandra Epps is founder of Sandy's Land a Publishing House and Children's Entertainment Service where the mission is to empower young people. An award-winning artist Epps has created various products and apparel with the signature theme of hope, love and faith. Epps a survivor of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to attack the body's own tissue and organs. This health challenge inspired her first children's book entitled, Imani Has The Most Exciting Dream! self-published, this books aims to help children transform their fears into faith when faced with adversity. For more than four years Epps has served as Associate Producer of Wake Up Detroit! a popular radio/television program on WHPR TV 33/88.1 FM. Epps is a staunch advocate for lupus awareness and is highly sought after to give keynote addresses, lectures, and to participate in health-related panel discussions. She has conducted workshops on how to manage lupus and reverse its symptoms. Her work with the Lupus Alliance of American, Southfield Lupus Support Group, and the Latreese Nicole Fagan Memorial Scholarship Fund an organization that provides scholarships to young adults diagnosed with lupus is a testament to her commitment. A proud volunteer, Epps shares her artistic expression by painting faces at various community events such as Historic Eastern Market Harvest Fest, City of Detroit Police Department Annual Night Out, Metropolitan Children and Youth, Inc. United Children and Family Head Start Awareness Day Celebration.
