Bound by Bradstreet's in handsome half-leather and marbled boards, raised bands, spine with gilt title and gilt designs, gilt top edge, marbled endpapers, 383 pp., illustrated with mounted etchings on yellow India proof paper, also with a variety of elaborately lithographed Pre-Raphaelite boarders throughout, clean unmarked text, Very Good copy with typical age-toning to the pages, light soiling to the covers, and light rubbing to the edges of the covers. Large 8vo, original beveled full vellum with decorations in red, blue and gilt, 383 pp., illustrated with mounted etchings on yellow India proof paper, also with a variety of elaborately lithographed Pre-Raphaelite boarders throughout, the etchings printed on deep cream colored india paper, mounted. Also, bound in opposite the first page of the preface is an original 1739 copperplate engraving of Thomas A Kempis.
