Contemporary brown Full Leather Binding with blind embossed Decorative Borders to front and rear boards. 4 Raised Bands to spines with gilt decoration and gilt titles. Marbled Endpapers. All page edges marbled. Frontis of Vol 1 is an engraved Illustration "Philosophy" of Raphael's "School of Athens". Protected by Tissue Guard. Vol one has 1052 Pages + the 1856 Supplement of 221 Pages. Vol Two has 414 Pages + Pronouncing Vocabularies of Greek and Latin Proper Names, Scripture Proper Names and Modern Geographical Names. Pages in very nice condition, only a feww spots of foxing. Hinges Reinforced. Spines have been carefully repaired. Some wear to the leather and small tears, edgewear etc and the gilt on the spines is quite worn (see photos) Set weighs nearly 8 Kilos so Postage will be extra.
