Publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering. Small chip from center right hand side of spine gutter, otherwise very good. Haskell was the founder of Colorado College and prolific poet. In his printed "Dedication" Haskell writes: "To the welfare of our colored races, and the entertainment of fair-minded people who desire the usefulness and honor of our country, the elevation and immorality of our Indian brethren, and the happiness and progress of American home life this volume is cordially and respectfully dedicated by the author." 207, 145, 92 pages, plus two page "contents" and four page press notices at end.
