About this Item

Unread. DJ with shelf wear to edges. No markings in book. Binding is tight. Export processing zones have been in existence in India and in a number of other developing countries for many years now. Their economic rationale, policy framework and operational successes or failures have so far not been comprehensively examined by Indian economists. This work studies these economic zones within which duty-free imports are permitted for the purpose of manufacturing goods exclusively for the export market. The central objectives of the study are to identify factors adversely affecting the operation of EPZs in India; to suggest measures to improve their working; and to examine indepth their economic viability within the framework of a social benefit-cost analysis.
