Small 8vo, 206pp. Original embossed brown cloth. Cloth lightly rubbed and soiled with light wear to spine ends and corners, name of early owner on front flyleaf, very light scattered foxing, but a tight, good plus or better copy. Sixth edition, following the first of 1835. William Jay (1789-1858), the son of John Jay, was a judge in Westchester County, NY, and a prominent abolitionist. He was one of the founders of the American Bible Society (1816) and the New York City Anti-Slavery Society (1833).
