Professor I. Nelson Rose is recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on gaming law. A graduate of Harvard Law School ('79), he is a tenured full Professor of Law at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California, where he teaches one of the first law school classes on gambling and the law. In 1993-1994 he was the first Visiting Scholar at the University of Nevada Reno's Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming. The author of more than 200 articles and book chapters on the subject, Professor Rose is best known for his internationally syndicated column "Gambling and the Law"(r) and his landmark 1986 book by the same name. He incorporated the California Council on Compulsive Gambling and presently serves as its Vice President. Professor Rose has testified as an expert witness on gambling in civil, administrative and criminal cases and has acted as a consultant to governments and industry, including licensed casinos and card clubs, players, suppliers, law firms, tribes and tribal management companies and local, state and national governments, including the States of California, Texas, Florida and New Jersey and the Federal Government of Canada.
Martin Owens graduated from McGeorge Law School in California in 1994 and has specialized in Internet gaming law since 1998. He is the author of numerous articles on gaming law and has recently been a guest speaker at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
