Pictorial dust jacket is very good+, clean and bright with very tiny chips, light edge wear with a larger 1/8 inch chip at bottom outer corner. Jacket flaps stuck to fixed endpapers. Wartime story of a young man from New England sent by the Army to South Carolina after basic training and prior to embarkation to his designated war zone. During this time he meets a young woman different to another girl he has known.
