About this title

Today is the day that you finally answer that nagging question: things don't seem to be going so well in America - what was the original intent for American politics, economics, religion, and patriotism? Via the format of a modern, journalistic interview, the Founding Fathers' exact words on these subjects spring back to life to remind Americans, to warn Americans, and to admonish Americans, about the dangers of straying too far away from the Founders' original game plan on the quest for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. "A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government" Thomas Jefferson "If Congress can apply money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare . . . everything, from the highest object of State legislation, down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress" James Madison "The Constitution is not a living organism for Pete's sake. It's a law. It means what it meant when it was adopted" Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia "The great privilege of the Americans does not simply consist in their being more enlightened than other nations, but in their being able to repair the faults they may commit" Alexis de Tocqueville Ten percent of any profits from this book will be given to charitable organizations, with a focus on local and veteran oriented charities.

About the Author:

Justin American is just an American. He was born on the eastern edge of the American Midwest, in a small town next to a big town. He enjoyed playing sports, and sang in his high school's annual musical. He went to his prom, said goodbye to his friends, and headed off to become a member of the US armed forces. He owns a beautiful dog, loves and cherishes his wife and his kids, loves his country, and most of all, loves his God. Justin's military service inspired him to learn more about what it really meant to "support and defend the Constitution" the oath he took upon entry into the US military. Now, Justin has decided to dedicate the rest of his life to teaching his fellow Americans, and those who aspire to become Americans, what the Founding Fathers meant by Washington's statement: "Citizens by birth or choice, of a common country, that country [USA] has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations"
