Portfolio of 10 gold-toned gelatin silver prints and 1 Autochrome color print (mounted to inside front cover) in 17.5 x 14 inch solander case covered in blue velveteen embossed with art-nouveau floral pattern. Prints measure 7.5 x 6 inches and are mounted in 16 x 13 inch captioned window mats. With accompanying 15-page text pamphlet describing each print in detail and with an endnote describing the materials and printing processes used in producing this portfolio. Faint scuffing to velveteen, title label lightly rubbed, else fine with all tissue guards present Jacques-Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) began taking pictures as a young child in France but was better known as a painter until a 1963 exhibit of his photographs earned him wide acclaim. The 10 photographs in this portfolio date from 1903 to 1916 and are printed from Lartigue's original negatives under his personal supervision. The autochrome color print mounted to the front cover was taken in 1920. This # 248 of 5000 English-language sets. Signed by Lartigue and numbered on label mounted to inside flap of solander case. We had our open bookshop in the town of Sonoma for a total of 17 years, including 9 years at our East Napa St. location, however, as of April 13, 2013 we have closed our doors. Our business is now conducted online, by appointment, and at the approximately 8 antiquarian bookfairs at which we exhibit annually. Chanticleer Books is a sole-proprietorship owned and operated by Steve Blackmer, a full-time bookseller since 1985 and member of the Antiquarian Booksellers¿ Association of America (ABAA) since 1998.

We utilize the $30.00 Priority Mail International flat-rate mailer (4 lbs maximum weight) when we can adequately protect the book within. Oversize books will in most cases cost a minimum of $50.00 to ship overseas. The ABE default shipping rates are based on orders for 1 book at a maximum weight of 2.2 pounds. In many cases (large books, sets, insurance) this does not reflect the actual shipping cost. We will request additional shipping compensation through the Abebooks system when necessary.
