About this Item

Roy liked having "themes" for his catalogues whenever possible, and very often would single-out an author if he got in a large collection of his/her works, and sometimes if he simply liked that author himself!Such was the case here when he featured an author he enjoyed reading and felt had been unjustly neglected, and he had just gotten this large collection of his works to be able to offer as a whole.135 titles altogether for the grand sum of $4650.I didn't know a damn thing about Cabell at the time but would've paid that sum based upon Squires' own descriptions had I had it!A Cabell bibliographic education thrown in for free!Squires catalogues 1-20 plus supplement have become highly cherished collectors items especially for those of us who knew him personally; the early ones are quite scarce.I still marvel at the Roy Squires catalogs and it's more than forty years later! They are written with such erudition, humor and good taste. There was no one like him. From the Roy A. Squires archive!Fine unread copy of this scarce catalogue! Staplebound into stiff paper wraps. Store Description

Who am I and Why buy from me? How many times have you ordered a book on eBay only to return it because it wasn't a first edition or in the condition stated? I'm Terence McVicker. I began collecting Fantasy & Science fiction in 1970 and opened my own brick & mortar shoppe in 1976 under the name, The Book Symposium, in Anaheim, California. I closed the shoppe long ago and since have been selling under my own name and on eBay under the moniker of epagana. I mentored for fifteen years under the noted bookman Roy A. Squires, specializing in Fantasy & Science Fiction and in my more than forty years of collecting & selling I have dealt with virtually every major bookseller in the field from Gerry de la Ree to Lloyd Currey. . . and I have learned much! I have sold to and appraised collections for the John Hay Library, Brown University's H.P. Lovecraft Collection and the Bancroft Library, University of Southern California, Berkeley's Clark Ashton Smith Collection and numerous individual clients. I worked with Ray Bradbury & Gary Gianni on Ray's last book - The Nefertiti-Tut Express which I designed and published in 2012 as The RAS PRESS. I have a forty year plus, reputation in the field for integrity, expertise and professionalism that I take great pride in: In other words, everything I sell I know to be authentic and I stake my reputation upon it. And everything sold is guaranteed to be delivered to you in the condition stated or your money back. If your shipment is damaged, then I haven't done my job! It's not the fault of the post office. And I guarantee this worldwide! Let eBay sellers better that! I look forward to having you as my client! - Terence McVicker
