Title: JULIA JACKSON CHRISTIAN. BY HER MOTHER, MARY...
Publisher: Charlotte, N.C.: Stone & Barringer Company
Publication Date: 1910
Book Condition: Very Good
57pp. First edition. Original cloth, some light soiling, library ‘withdrawn’ stamp on front free endpaper and one in text. Signed in ink on dedication page, ‘M.A. Jackson.’ Additionally, there is an interesting inscription on front free endpaper, ‘For my friend Robert Glasgow from E.R. Preston.’ There was a history of marriage between the Preston and Jackson families, so one speculates this inscription is from one of the Virginia Prestons. The contents of this slim volume are a eulogistic remembrance of Jackson’s only child, born in 1862. She died at age 26, in Charlotte. Bookseller Inventory # ABE-14067223991
