Synopsis: Jack and Leota Neville never spoke of the war years. Efforts to engage them in such conversations were always deflected, this chapter of their life together seemingly forever closed. Jack's 45th serves to open this chapter of their life and times together as well as pay tribute to all of those in The Greatest Generation. Jack's 45t" presents a unique blend of family, Oklahoma, and World War II history that follows the footsteps of Jack Neville from Adair, Oklahoma through the beginnings and battles of Oklahoma's famous 45th Infantry Division Thunderbirds. Jack's 45t" also tells of the life and times of Leota and others who worked and waited in Oklahoma City for the end of the war. Following Jack and the Division to Watertown, New York and on to Virginia where Jack boarded the USS Leonard Wood for North Africa, Leota and the other wives of Oklahoma City returned to the wait of war times. Chronicled in considerable detail are the beginnings of Tinker Air Force Base and the community's considerable support of the war effort. The anxiety and worry of not knowing are told through the eyes of Leota, as she spent her days working at the McDonald Aircraft Plant in Midwest City where over 3,000 C-47s were produced for the armed services. "Jack's 45th" is a tribute to all of these men, women, and families who sacrificed in the Great War. May we always remember.

About the Author: Drew Neville is a partner in the Oklahoma City law firm of Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville, having obtained his B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1969 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1972. Mr. Neville was a Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Army in 1971, with his active duty in the Signal Corp. in Fort Gordon, Georgia. After military service, he served as a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. on the staff of Senator Henry Bellmon. Thereafter Mr. Neville was appointed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Oklahoma before entering private practice in 1976. Mr. Neville has tried many civil and criminal cases across the nation and is notably recognized by his peers as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, Oklahoma Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation Oklahoma City Affiliate and as a former President of the Children's Medical Research Institute, and current board member. With a keen interest in American and World War II history, this is Mr. Neville's first non-legal publication.
