About this title:

Synopsis: This book is for the newly diagnosed and his or her caregiver(s). It provides a practical guide to care and a spiritual view of Alzheimer's, aided by channeled messages from MJ, the author's mother, who suffered with Alzheimer's. A channeled message is obtained through a person or medium that has the ability to speak with someone's soul. The messages here were from MJ after she passed away from the Alzheimer's condition. The messages are very uplifting. MJ's messages indicate that it is possible that we no longer have to fear the Alzheimer's condition, that there is something worth rejoicing about for those in the condition. It suggests that Alzheimer's is a choice of the soul . The channeled messages contained in this book explain this unique concept while addressing practical concerns for Alzheimer's caregivers. The book incorporates new considerations for caregiving more in keeping with the soul's journey through the Alzheimer' s condition.

About the Author: Born Lucinda Maria Collins, Cindy is a native of South Florida. She is one of six children. Her father James H. Collins Jr. was a prominent banker and her mother, Mary Jane (MJ), was a housewife and artist and later became a travel agent. Cindy's parents enjoyed 53 loving years of marriage before her father passed away, leaving her mother acclimating to the early stages of Alzheimer's. Cindy received a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and worked as a substitute teacher in Tennessee and the Florida Keys. Leaving education to become a Paralegal she has worked for the last 27 years in Fort Lauderdale where she and her partner of 18 years, Mike McGraw, reside. Within 6 months of her father's death Cindy took on the role of her mother's caregiver for approximately three years before her mother passed away. Still holding down her full time position as a paralegal, she found it necessary for her mother to live in a Senior Living Facility transitioning to an Assisted Living Facility and then an Alzheimer's Facility. The struggle to find a facility led her to obtain information that could help her find quality care for her mother, and eventually, to write this book. In addition to practical advice, Cindy wanted to share what she learned about Alzheimer's from her mother through her channeled messages after she passed away. Her mother's message to Cindy was, and is, so uplifting that she felt those in similar situations would feel and appreciate a huge release from the normal suffering brought on by the Alzheimer's condition. Her goal is to help others assess how best to care for a loved one with Alzheimer's and find joy in the experience.
