The fore-edges and top-edges and bottom-edges are all clean and in very good = condition. The front and back hinges are starting to open. This is a great read about Jimmy Radboone or Radburn, an Englishman who settled in Patagonia at the start of the 20th-century when he was about 18. He became a gaucho and a great horseman, and made a life and reputation in the wide-open vastness of Patagonia. Along with the indigenous gauchos he survived the lawlessness and extreme conditions of this magical and harsh landscape. The photographs in doubletone are magnificent. Quite a gem of a story and told in the style of Jimmy himself, Herbert Childs did a great service to capture the gist and history of 1900-1932 in Patagonia. Includes a 4 page glossary at the back.398 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 001205
