Reprint of the 1828 original. No markings in book. Binding is tight. Slipcase with rubbing to edges and surfaces. With an introduction by David K Wyatt. 4 maps and plans include a folding map of Siam and China, a plan of Bangkok and a map and plan of Singapore (on one page). 11 black and white illustrations include examples of the Siamese, Pali, Pegum and Lao alphabets (on one page), 11 text woodcuts, 15 plates & maps, including one large folding map, vii + 598pp. "Though the main portion of the Journal is devoted, as might be expected, to an account of the Embassy and its adventures in Siam and Cochin China, Crawfurd gives an interesting and lengthy description of Penang in 1821, and also of Malacca and Singapore.
