About this title
When nineteen-year-old, Danielle Alexander and her father left St. Louis, Missouri, she planned to join her fiancé in California. Instead, her father died leaving her alone, near penniless, and surrounded by Indians.
When tricked into taking in an orphaned infant, she never expected to love it. Traipsing through a wilderness known as Boogaboo Canyon wasn't on her agenda either. Yet, when a grieving Indian woman stole the child, Danielle didn't hesitate to follow after her. She also hadn't expected to be attracted to another man, especially not a married man.
In the struggle to deal with the unexpected alteration of her future, she discovered an old Chickasaw shaman's plans altered many of her own. She also learned about the Journey Of the Eagle -- life and love, are viewed as much with the heart as the eyes. From the Inside Flap:
A Special thanks to DENNIS RICH, Naturalist with the Oklahoma State Parks and Recreation Department, who escorted me through Boogaboo Canyon. Despite my endless questions and the sweltering July heat, his patience never faltered. His knowledge of the terrain, wildlife, and vegetation provided the bulk of information I used to describe Danielle's foray into the Sacred place where the ground quivers. Any inaccuracies depicted in those scenes are entirely mine and do not reflect on my enthusiastic guide.
