About this title

Synopsis:

Journey of Friends is a book about a group of women going through life's joys and struggles with books, friends and faith. It is a novel about a fifteen year old book club, following the ladies' stories intertwined with the many books they read and discuss at their meetings. Important issues raised by these discussions help the women to grow in faith as well as in friendship. Some of the books the ladies of Journey of Friends read include When Bad Things Happen to Good People, The DaVinci Code, The Power of One and Beach Music, just to name a few. It is interesting to note that there is a big element of surprise running throughout the novel (no spoiler alert needed here!). Journey of Friends is a book that you may find inspiring.

About the Author:

Jo Ann King is a New York native who spent many formative years living in Ohio. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Education, Jo taught for over twenty years in public and private school. The children who benefited from her loving care were preschool through fifth graders. She is now retired and lives in New York with her husband, Bill. She is a proud mother and grandmother. Jo loves to travel to see her family and enjoys practicing yoga, meditating, walking, watercolor painting, snowshoeing in Vermont, vegan cooking, and her amazing book club. She volunteers in the community and is active in her church. This is her first novel, which was begun when she and Lori were training for a marathon. She has many books and projects in her head and is now already in the throes of the next several ventures. Lori  Wilson was born and raised in Michigan. She had the blessing of a sheltered, happy childhood filled with love, space to play, think, read and dream. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Religious Studies and is in the middle of a certification program on Ignatian spiritual direction. Lori married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and moved from Michigan to New York. Having a passion for social justice issues and spiritual development, she is committed to creating a better world and being aware of those who don’t have their basic needs met. Besides volunteering on service projects in the United States, she has also served in Haiti, Mexico, Uganda and Kenya.  She believes the key to change in the world is a good education and lots of love. This has led her to work in education for the past twenty-five plus years. Her favorite places on the planet are Uganda, Ireland and Michigan. This is her first novel and has other books inside of her that are already in progress.
