About this Item

Neel, a twelve-year old on vacation, runs into a boy named Sachin and learn that they have one thing in common: their passion for cricket. In the weeks of practice that they share, Neel discovers that Sachin has a monstrous talent that if directed right could see him in the future Indian team. He returns to Delhi and resumes preparing for the Junior Devils, the Delhi team of the first Junior Premier League cricket tournament. In a twist of fate, he finds that Sachin is in the team as well, after he moves to his aunt`s home in Delhi. Is Sachin`s talent enough to carry the Devils forward? Neel finds that talent isn`t enough, and that to win, one must need something more. A story of dedication, hard work and a little bit of luck, this book tells a tale fit for a roller-coaster. About this title

Synopsis:

The inside stories of India s most exciting junior cricket league

When twelve-year-old Neel goes to Ranchi for his winter break, he meets Sachin, a local boy who has an amazing new bowling action. Over weeks of practising with each other, Neel realises that Sachin could be the next Sunil Narine or Muralitharan.

Once the vacation is over, Neel returns to Delhi and forgets about Sachin in the excitement of preparing for a place in the Junior Devils, the Delhi team of the first-ever Junior Premier League tournament. But by a quirk of fate, Sachin moves to his aunt s home in Delhi when his father is transferred out of Ranchi. He finally gets his chance to join Neel in the Junior Devils. What follows is a roller coaster of hope, fear, excitement and disappointment that is the lot of every cricketer. It s not easy being a JPL star. But for Sachin, Neel and their friends, the journey s just about to begin.
