The author believed that Governor Pownall of Massachussetes was the author of the Junius letters. Published between 1769 and 1772, The Junius Letters dealt with their unknown author's views of corruption in English government and notions of freedom of speech, press, etc. Henry Woodfall was the printer of "The Advertiser," the paper in which these letters originally appeared in London. Spine extremities chipped, original blind stamped cloth covers slightly rippled, 8 pages of publisher's ads in front matter which are unopened, a nice clean, tight book in which the text is free of usual foxing.
