About this Item

Bitter was Viennese, and he came to the U.S. in 1889 when he was 22. He achieved almost immediate success producing sculpture in the academic-baroque tradition. Much of his work was architectually-oriented and he was greatly admired by the architect Richard Morris Hunt, and was praised by Alexander Calder. This book will 'show and tell' you why. Great gift.
