[42] pages, chiefly half-tone plates. Bound in stapled self-wraps, with photo of the artist at work on front and back covers. Photographs by Pamela Harris. About fine with slight wear to spine fold. Karoo Ashevak (1940-1974) is acknowledged as an important figure in contemporary Canadian Inuit art. He grew up in traditional surroundings and lived after the mid 1960s in Taloyoak (Spence Bay), Northwest Territories (now a Nunavut). He and his wife perished in a fire at their home.
