About this title:

Synopsis: Kayak to Serenity is the love story untold to my daughters, grandchildren, the first generation immigrants and their new American generation, and whoever wants a piece of the broken mirror to reflect on their lives. Our forty-five years in America have seen our family's success through hard work, devastation by compulsive action and recovery through spiritual fellowship at Gamblers Anonymous. Our broken mirror reflects the ills of our conditioned life and the thinking mind. Kayak to Serenity is a gift to my grandchildren, the new American generation to search for radical change in their lives to instill peace and love in this conflict and war ridden world in new enlightenment.

About the Author: Born in Korea, Young Lee was raised in Seoul during the Korean War.  Later in life he attended Seoul National University where he studied engineering.  Upon graduation, he served in the Korean Army with the rank of Lieutenant and worked as a Civil Engineer for Hyundai Corporation.
At the age of 26, Young Lee came to the United States in 1967 as an engineering trainee and attended New Jersey Institute of Technology.  There he achieved both a Masters and Doctor of Engineering Science Degrees.
He later served as an adjunct professor at NJIT. Specializing in transportation infrastructure design and construction management, Young Lee gained much experience at various consulting engineering firms, ultimately founding his own engineering company. As CEO, he spent the remainder of his professional career there until his retirement. He remains an active professional engineer and professional land surveyor, licensed in various states.
An avid student of meditation, but also physically active, Young enjoys kayaking, golfing, snorkeling, and swimming, all of which he has pursued during his travels to many states and countries.
The proud father of two daughters and grandfather of three, he is a naturalized U.S. citizen, residing in New Jersey and Florida with Kim, his soul mate, and wife of 45 years. He with his wife plans to open a communication link for couples with gambling addictions for sharing and supporting.
