About this Item

12mo. 121p. A useful guide to history which begins at 4004 B.C. though the author leaves both Adam and Eve out (perhaps since they were created as full adult human beings so how ascribe an age to them) but he does confirm Noah lived in 2500 B.C. Assuming the dates are correct, it would raise the question as to whether the dinosaurs died as Adam was expelled from the Garden or perhaps they perished in the flood of Noah. He apparently dates all languages from the most ancient to English at 3100 B.C. which suggests translators might have been saved a great deal of effort had direct English versions of the Scripture which existed been preserved while dinosaurs roamed the earth when presumably Genesis 1-11 took place. Happily, Bishop Usher confirmed for us the 4004 B.C. date of creation as October 23, 4004 B.C. though apparently it took until November 10, 4004 B.C. before the questions of the serpent made much headway and both were perhaps bored of this earthly paradise as well as the physical delights of marital bliss. Thus, they were driven from Paradise on a Monday forcing them also to begin their work week immediately rather than on the Sabbath which would had given them a day to reflect and refresh their troubled condition. He also identifies the ark's touching down on Mt. Ararat on May 5, 2348 B.C. Of course, much else of edification appears in these pages which we recommend from the dates of the various popes (though somewhat deficient in dealing with various anti-popes in the Fourteenth Century). Showing an open attitude he seems to omit Washington and Lincoln though he does not neglect Attilia the Hun or Ivan the Terrible. An essential book for those who wish to become expert in the arcane ways of scholarship. Of course, the huge wall chart to which this is a key might solve problems that arise in the pursuit of man's origins. We offer this item only as a guide for reflection. Bound in brown cloth lettered in gilt, front and rear hinges cracked, some staining to cloth and some fraying spine ends. Bookseller Inventory # 016895
