About this title

Synopsis:

Traces the life of Prince Charles, and looks at the changes marriage, family, and increasing years have brought to him

From Library Journal:

Not just another biography of Prince Charles of Great Britain (who may become Charles III, if he chooses that name), this work, commemorating Charles's 40th birthday in 1988 , is a disturbing analysis of Charles's personal side. In his earlier biography of Charles up to age 30 ( Prince Charles) , British journalist Holden painted Charles as upbeat and likable. Here, he appears as an isolated man, searching for purpose in his life. He seems to have found some of that purpose through his interest and influence in public housing. He does not appear to have found much satisfaction as a husband and father. Holden's portrait is painted in darker hues than that in other biographies, but it is probably the most insightful to date.
