About this Item

"First edition in the United States of America" stated. "Published for the Crime Club by Doubleday & Company, Inc." No library stampings to page edges, but of course there are problems. FFE mostly gone -- cut away with only a stub remaining. Some kind of stamping has been effectively blacked out with magic marker to bottom of title page. DJ was once glued down to top & bottom edges of inside boards. Spine rolled 3/8ths inch, which is VERY noticeable to this slim a volume. Book was once pressed open at pp 134-135, and binding threads are visible there. The good news? Book is holding together, is easily read, displays no library attachments (though we suspect this indeed WAS once a library book.) DJ NOT price-clipped, shows original $12.95 price, is original and is nearly pristine, due to the fact it was secured inside an earlier Brodart protector before being originally glued down, though there is a small white line running through the first "S" at spine, where we presume a spine label has been removed. Reduced from $60. Bookseller Inventory # 001853
