Matsubara is an internationally renowned woodblock artist, the daughter of a Shinto priest, and the presenter of woodblocks of subjects which have to do with her travels. Some of her works are in the White House, the United Nations, Boston and Vienna museums. Her work is honored by the foreword by Fritz Eichenberg and an Introduction by Bunsho Jugaku.
