About this Item

This book will need rebinding. This the first part only - pages 1 - 965. There are no frontpapers, has the title page, (blank), 2 page dedication, main text 1-965, (blank), later endpaper. The inner front cover has the bookplate of the Harvard Law Library, which is stamped "Duplicate - Sold". This inner cover also has the stamp of Alexander Kiralfy of New York City, who was a World War 2 naval strategist. The title page has a stamped coat-of-arms, of which I cannot make out the first 5 letters - ".germaniapratie". The book's binding is cracked and is split, so the book is now in 4 sections. The worn, period covers are detached, and there is no spine. The pages are clean and are still crisp, with occasional foxing. The actual pages measure 7-3/4 inches (193 mm) by 6 inches (150mm). The inner, blank margin is 3/4 of an inch (18mm). The upper blank margin is 1/2 inch (12mm), The lower blank margin is 3/4 inch (18mm) and the outer blank margin is about 1-1/8 inch (28mm). This work was first printed in 1680, and this is the 1681 printing. Bookseller Inventory # 12450
