Book Description The Devin-Adair Company, New York, New York, 1948. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. 480 page book is in fair condition with edgewear, dent in top of back cover, scuffing of cover, discoloration of cover, page sides and on pages throughout the book, previous owner's name inside the front cover, and yellowing inside the front and back covers. The DJ is in poor condition with edgewear, tears. parts of the cover torn away, and discoloration of cover. This book is a collection of letters, beginning in 1900, which tell about the usual round of his life and of his movements, travels and quiet adventures--between London and Grantham on the 'Flying Scotsman', at Jericho or the Great Pyramid or in the nave of Chartres. There are accounts of the planning and carrying out of some of his best-known sculptures--the Stations of the Cross at Westminister and Bradford, the work at Broadcasting House, and the great relief at Geneva. Also his ideas on art and work and society are amply illustrated and clarified in private correspondence and in letters to the press. Bookseller Inventory # 014673
