Mary Corinna Putnam Jacobi [1842-1906] was an American physician, writer, suffragist, and was the first woman to become a member of the Faculte de Medecine de Paris. Daughter of publisher George Palmer Putnam, she organized the Association for the Advancement of the Medical Education of Women and is considered the foremost female physician of her era. She was married to Dr. Abraham Jacobi, who is often referred to as the "father of American pediatrics." Very Good condition (two short tears in text nicely repaired with archival tape). $75.00.
