About the Author:

Born in Syracuse, New York, Pat Mulligan was an altar boy at Saint John the Baptist Church. It was his introduction into "show business." The altar was a stage, the cast was heavenly and the audience, Catholic (tough crowd). By his late teens, the Church had lost its grip on Pat's soul. He hung with the "bad boys," did some crimes, and spent a little time in the slammer. Eventually, the lure of show biz was cause for a more constructive, creative outlet. Pat started working as a comic and played clubs all over the country. Hollywood soon beckoned. Eight Dating Games and three Gong Shows later, Pat became a regular at The Comedy Store, sharing the stage with Robin Williams and Sam Kinison. Like many of the comics of the time, he nurtured substance abuse. However, the career marched on and he managed to secure roles in TV and films, including Diff'rent Strokes and Mr. Belvedere, also Kill Me Again, starring Val Kilmer. By the Nineties he had developed another addiction...writing. Pat wrote five screenplays which lead to this endeavor, The Life and Times Of a Hollywood Bad Boy. It chronicles his life; revealing some very private moments, drug horrors and achievements, plus some of the downfalls as well as benefits of a life of debauchery.
