An uncommon proof, especially when signed. John Braine's third book (a sequel to Room at the Top), and made into the film of the same name (in 1965), starring Laurence Harvey and Jean Simmons (with screenplay by Mordecai Richler). English novelist John Braine (1922-1986) was born in Yorkshire. A good to very good copy; spine is askew and evenly faded, light green covers are moderately soiled and lightly creased, with few small (faint) stains on rear flyleaf and fore-edge (text is otherwise clean). .
