Ten volume set. Bound is maroon cloth, with a printed paper spine label. The spines are moderately faded, with moderate browning and rubbing to the labels. This edition has impressions of the intaglio plates printed on India Paper; Number 442 of 1000 printed. This edition is edited from the texts by John Nichols, George Steevens, and Samuel Ireland, with a new critical introduction by John LaFarge, and a chronological catalogue raisonne by Austin Dobson. The steel and copper plate impressions are from the engravings by Amrstrong, Cook, Engleheart, Holl, Mottroam, Radclyffe, Romney, etc. A few of the inner hinges are weakened, remaining intact, and a few of the printed tissue-guards are torn. The front inner hinge of volume six is almost detached. Complete in ten volumes. Contains three loose extra plates in a pocket inside the rear board of volume ten. Size: Octavo (8vo).
