5 x 8 in. Vol 1 - viii, 315 pgs. Vol 2 - 308 pgs. Half light brown morocco with marble paper boards. Contemporary bindings. 5 raised bands on spine with gilt decoration and lettering. Matching marbled endpapers. Gilt upper text block. Condition of books is VERY GOOD ; corners and edges have wear and several corner triangles have surface tears. Vol 1 has slight crack to inside front hinge, not affecting the solidity of the binding. One the whole the spines are lovely and the bindings very good and solid. Paper boards are lightly rubbed, ffep have some darkening and foxing, text is very clean with no foxing. Title pg of vol 1 is darkened from some inserted paper. Both have two bookplates on front pastedown - one belonging to prof Victor Lange, the other to Joseph Billiat, of Aisthorpe Hall.
